    Is the Dell rep as confused as I am?

    Hi Guys,

    I read the sticky about GPU upgrade and found the Dell Vostro 1500/1700 can be upgraded, I didn't see anything about the 1400, so I went to the dell live chat support and below is the complete chat log.

    For those too lazy to read the whole thing, a summary would be:
    -I wanted to get a Vostro 1400 upgraded with a 8600GT
    -Vostro 1400 cannot be ordered with a 8600GT, only the 8400GS
    -the rep said I can upgrade this myself
    -the warranty will not be void if I contacted the Dell Tech Support before doing this.

    You cannot get the 1400 with the 8600GT, and you cannot upgrade to that card yourself.
