I do not see it mentioned much at all. I will be purchasing a new SSD very soon and so far It is Intel 510 120GB or Intel 320. I really like the aspect of a little extra room at 160GB.

But I do not want it to be "slow" :)

    I like the Intel name.

    Such decisions.

Corsair in sig broke and I cannot even RMA it because it has data on it :( First time I actually thanked God for a $60 dollar spinner at Staples :)

I bought my samsung 470 256 GB on November 10th 2010 and I haven't noticed any slow down. My WEI score in Windows 7 for the drive is 7.7. Updating the firmware is pretty simple you just need a flash drive and format it as a bootable drive and copy the updated firmware to the flash drive.

From what I've seen, the Samsung 470 is still a top contender with great real life performance and one of the lower power consumers. Unfortunately, I haven't seen enough reviews comparing the top SSDs for battery life (which is the biggest thing for me). All the current top controllers from Intel, Marvell, Sandforce, and Samsung perform similarly in majority of real world situations and in the end it's more the price that affects the decision.

Samsung 470 beats the Intel 320 in this review, the only review I know comparing these drives on a laptop.

Power consumption of the Samsung 470 is very good, except during sequential writing.
