Hello everybody, I need to know if the XPS m1530 is capped for this kind of high performance SSD's, since Dell is offering a lower performance samsung SSD with this laptop.

Also, I'm not sure to buy a Vertex or Intel X-25, since I need a SSD for video editing and I know Intel have faster reading but Vertex double Intel in writing.

I don't care about money, I just want the best and reliable SSD no the market.Which one do you guys recommend?

    Thanks in advance!

Get the X-25 if money is no object.

If cost and power consumption aren't issue's I'd probly get the 250Gb Vertex, It is on par with Intel for all but the smallest random writes and is 3x the storage. Intel power consumption and all-round soundness is untouchable though.

Intel components is usually the best choice when it comes to notebooks since they have less power consumption and heating problems..

I still not sure yet.. both are ver good performance SSD and I really... REALLY want the 160MB/s writing of the vertex... (intel has only a 80MB/s writing speed)

The truth is, I don't even know why Intel is better..., why..??

I want the drive for video editing, and I need both.. high speed reading and high speed writing... and the vertex seems to be the right choice. What do you guys will do in my shoes?

I already read the full review in anandaTech http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=3531

And somehow I feel like the writer is huge fan of Intel and that is not helpful for a really fair review...

Thanks guys for all your help...and sorry for my bad english :p

From the reviews in this forum, I think the Samsung MLC 256GB drive is best overall since it has huge capacity, has less problems then Intel (OCZ is still new relative to the rest), doesn't stutter, is very fast overall, and cheapest per GB. While it is slightly slower than the Vertex and Intel in 4K writes, it does well in every other category.

    Vertex from http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=4696850&postcount=6
    Samsung from http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=4517063&postcount=1
    Intel from http://forum.notebookreview.com/showpost.php?p=4738383&postcount=5092

    Seq R/W and 4K R/W
Vertex: 190/100, 30/12 (unknown which fireware version)
Samsung: 216/195, 24/8 (before firmware update)
Intel: 257/71, 19/55 (after firmware update)
