I was having issues with my fan running at a high RPM.

I know updating the BIOS to a new version is risky, but I rolled the dice and decided to do so.

Now the fan is running at a higher RPM.

On my moms Dell Inspiron 1525, I flashed from A17 down to A16, and A15 with out issues. Now it's running A17 again, and works great.

Haven't stumbled across a laptop where you couldn't roll back yet.

if it's flashable, yes. you just need the correct roll back bios file.

Is it as risky as I think it is?

Why did Sony tech support tell me it is not possible to roll back the BIOS?
