    I want 4GB x 2.

    All I can find is 2GB x 2.

    It's for an Alienware m17.

If you're looking for DDR2, this is the cheapest I've ever seen it:

90% of users, though, will not need or even be able to use 8GB of RAM in a laptop. For what purposes do you want 8GB? The most common use for so much RAM is if you need to run several VM's.

A very common misconception that increasing the amount of memory would increase performance. Unless the you can utilize all that memory(via software) would see a notable performance over a 4GB machine running the same amount of software. Having "FREE" unused available memory is the most inefficient way of using RAM.

If you're willing to spend that kind of money for 4GB modules, look into either a Intel X25-M or a OCZ Vertex SSD instead, the performance gain would be more noticeable in comparison.
