Between the Intel 6200, 6300, and generic ones, is there any difference? I'm using the 5100 now which is not very highly regarded as opposed to the 5300 but I have no complains whatsoever. So what is the fuss about upgrading wireless adapters?

IDK. Some people have issues. I personally can't tell the difference between generic Dell and Toshiba, and Intel 5300 and 6300 cards. They all work just as well for me.

Part of the difference will depend on the network(s) you're on. Some people report better reception and faster speeds on some network cards, but if your network is the limiter then you won't notice any change.

Majority of users won't notice a difference (and if you don't if you're one of those users, you probably aren't). Forgot who, but someone tested the last gen 5100 vs. 5300 in the networking subforum.
Is there noticeable difference between wireless cards?
