Is there some kind of test or program I could use to check my gpu for failure?

So i recently heard of the 84/86 series failing and my laptop has started to act very strange. But I'm unable to determine the cause of the problems since i don't know much about gpus(this was never my strong point). Today I played a game for about 2 hours nothing out of the normal happened to the temps. Is there some kind of program though that i could use?

    Hi Nightmear,

If you played a Game for 2 hiurs and nothing happened then I would not sweat it ... this 84/86 failures were happening last year on all sort of laptops ...

    Anyway, do this ...

    1) Keep the laptop "Cool" when playing games ... air circulation ... I personally just elevate the back of my laptop and set it on my desk. But then again I bought a laptop with ATI card just to stay from NVIDIA ... when they were having all kinds of problems with their laptop Graphics cards.

    2) Use HWMonitor to monitor your Temps ...

    http://www.cpuid.com/hwmonitor.php

In past even if you had Vista 64-Bit ... it was better to use the 32-Bit version of HWMonitor so it would work ... I have not played with it since version 1.10 ... they might have fixed the 64-Bit version in 1.14.

    Hope this helps some!

    G! :)

I've never used it personally, but Furmark is a good stress-tester, is it not?

Not really having any experience in these Nvidia matters but could AtiTool's artifact tester help?
