    Is this 120hz panel compatible with the Dell G3 17"

    I'm not sure if a 120hz panel will work with G3 17 considering it comes with and uses a 30 pin cable, this is probably main the reason why I unable overclock the panel get past 70hz; again I'm unsure if a 40 pin cable would even fit in the G3 17 and work as intended if it fits.

    If a laptop model ships with both FHD and UHD display variants and shares the same mobo part number, chances are it has a 40 pin connector on the mobo with a 40pin --> 30pin cable that does not use all the pins on the mobo side. The question is if the firmware will support the higher end panel or if it is whitelisted only for the FHD panel.
