It will play some recent games.
    Predecessor to the GMA950.
Good for those who do not game a lot.
    Will handle all Vista's perfectly

yea the GMA is ok. if you want to play games than i would recommend something with dedicated vram but for nongamers it will work just fine.

It is good for what it is and much better than GMA 950. It is a better solution for battery life than dedicated graphics. It will easily do everything other than demanding 3D such as gaming. It should play many older and newer less demanding games. If you are not a gamer (demanding) it is a very good alternative lower cost and lower power consumption.

what about the integrated graphics chip on the VAIO CR? will it be able to play and handle The Sims? My sis is curious, she's looking for a new laptop and i'm not too sure how the integrated chip will perform.

umm....the GMA 965 is a pretty crappy card when it comes to gaming.

It will run games like Command and Conquer 3....other RTS games....not many FPS games.

    If you aren't a gamer, it's a great card, don't worry.

Any current laptop will run the Sims. I mean seriously, check out it's requirements:

    # Windows 95 or 98
    # 233 Mhz or faster Intel Pentium processor or AMD K6
    # 32MB RAM
    # 2MB Video Card, 16-bit Color Capable - DirectX 7 Certified
    # Sound card - DirectX 7 Certified
    # 300 MB free hard disk space (additional space required for DirectX 7 installation and Windows swap file)

And here we are wondering if 256/512MB is going to be enough to run PC games at a good resolution a year from now...

Um i think you shoudl check teh grpahics requirements of some new RTS games. They are more demanding than any FPS ive ever played.

Try World of Conflict or Supreme Commander. Both those games can push my PC down to under 15fps at times on high details. No FPS gets close to doing that.

    For my PC = Quad 3.2Ghz, 8800GTX @ (641mhz Core, 2100mhz Memory), 2gig 1000Mhz Ram. And the PCI-Express slots are overclocked by 25%.

Actually even the more powerful integrated cards can struggle with the Sims 2 even on mickey mouse settings. A low end dedicated card would be better for the Sims 2. Something like a Geforce go 7300 or ATi X1300/X2300
