Crucial M4's are known to be excellent SSD's. Look them up on newegg & read some of the reviews.

My crucial M4 (also ordered from amazon), has been rock solid so far. It fits in the M17x r3/r4 fine. :)

My crucial 128 served me well as long as I had the m17r3, however now it works impeccably in The mbp13"

Dude, that SSD kind of defines excellent price right now. Anything below $1/1gb is considered cheap, and the 256gb option is currently $.74/gb.

Definetly one of the favorites on this board. The link you provided sent me to the 128GB version, but it looks like for $70 more you can get the 256GB version. Prices on these things seem to be dropping fairly quickly.

^^^ Exactly, twice the storage capacity and substantially better performance, primarily write speeds, for an additional $70 at Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-2-5-Inch-Solid-State-CT256M4SSD2/dp/B004W2JL2A/ref=pd_cp_e_0. Both are excellent drives, but the 256GB version is a compelling value.

There is no point for going for the 256 one though like, I only need the SSD for windows and booting and a few programs right? =] I heard it doesnt matter much when it comes to gaming.

I install all my games on the SSD, loading takes no time. I highly recommend the 256

Will this type of SSD also fit in the m11x?

Unless I am mistaken, the M11x has the standard laptop form factor of 2.5"; so yes, it should work.

And +1 to what [Cyanide] said. Your load times will be quicker. Check out this section for more details on SSDs. If I hadn't already bought my Samsung SSD, I would buy that Crucial in a heartbeat.

EDIT: Dukes! Looks like the mods already moved you to the right place.

Everyone else here has already told you how the M4 is a favorite here at NBR. The only thing I can add here is that when you order the SSD, you need to make sure you get the version of the drive that's 9.5mm high (iirc that's what the m11x takes).

7mm height drives are meant for smaller laptops like Ultrabooks and some ultraportables such as the T420s, whereas 9.5mm is the standard for pretty much any other notebook sold.

I dont know whether I should buy an SSD for my m11x and move its hardrive to my m17x r3 or should I buy an SSD for my m17x R3. I dont know why I feel like its cooler to have an ssd in a portable laptop what do you guys think? :D

Which one do you use more? For raw performance, the m17x sounds better, but then again it's your call :p

If you want an SSD, then yup, you nailed it ;)

If you won;t use more than about 80% of it a couple years from now, then sure. The point being made was the 256GB is a far better deal. Faster too, not that you'll notice a huge difference.

Yup. Just get the normal 9.5mm one, not the 7mm one (which incidentally tends to cost more anyway).
