1TB External Hard drive from newegg.com
Newegg.com - SAMSUNG STORY Station 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive HX-DU010EB
comes to 69.99 after the $20 promo code.
Is this a pretty good price for this external or can i find something better?
Also i have a $25 coupon for hp, so if i use that at the hp site is there something that will net a better price?
edit--Some of the reviews have stated that "The data encrypt function doesn't work with Windows 7 x64.".. does this mean that the drive will be unusable with a computer running windows 7 x64? if so then this is out the window for me as my new laptop will have windows7

i looked on hp's site and there isnt anything close to this price.

It is an excellent deal...It works just fine with win7x64.Only you can't use its own data encryption function(very few people do anyways). And still you can use other methods to encrypt data...

I just posted some info in this forum on the Seagate GoFlex if anyone has been looking for such a thing. Nice little drive and there are a couple of full reviews minus the eSATA info at the date of this posting.

I ended up getting the Hp 1tb personal media drive
HP 1TB Personal Media Drive | HP® Official Store
got it for 70 dollars after coupon and academy discount.. not too shabby -
Anyway, external portable HDD's that run on USB only power (TRULY portable)are usually more expensive, and smaller in physical size, than their external HDD counterparts which require an ac adapter (like the one you are getting), for the same amount of GB capacity. -
I recommend the WD My Book. Solid fast and works well and also reliable. Worked excellently for more than one year.. its even faster than my notebook hard drive. It will be slightly pricier but its a much better deal than samsung.. IMO Samsung drives are the last i would want to buy.

There's a link in the thread. I'm sorry I wasn't very clear. I realize you are looking for the most storage for the money and the GoFlex doesn't fit that situation at all. Didn't mean to thread crap but thought someone might be interested in the eSATA capability on one cable as I wasn't able to find much info when I was researching.
I would stick to a WD or Seagate drive IMO. I always use WD on the desktop side. So far 3 Seagate laptop drives have been fine also.
Is this a good deal on an external hard drive?
