    30GB (4, 200RPM) 9.5MM IDE HARD DRIVE

    because i tried to use my alienware pata which was also 2.5" and it had different pins.

    I can't comment without a photo but check that there is no adaptor on the normal 44 pin connector.

    All PATA notebook drives have 39 pins sticking out of the one side. The top row has 20 pins, and the bottom row has 19 pins, with the spacer pin in the middle of the bottom row.
    If you have an adapter on the end of the current drive, you will have to install it on the replacement drive.

    to me it looks like its a standard 44 pin IDE connector,,, i do believe,,, the extra jumpers on the right are most likely MASTER/DLAVE settings
