It also depends on what parts. If you're talking about electronic components such as the CPU, RAM, HD, then perhaps you can. If you're talking about transplanting chassis components, keyboards, and lids, you can forget it.

    Not nearly enough info.
Detailed information on what laptops you have and what problems those have.

Maybe we should be more specific: can you tell us as much as you can about these two computers? Mention their manufacturer and model no. If possible, could you provide us with the transfer interface of the hard drives, RAM speed and DDR version, etc, etc. Detailed specs are needed for a detailed job.

Exactly what I was driving at.

The question was not "Are they the same model?"

The question was, what are the detailed models, specs, and any other information you have?

    Well, if you had:
    Model X:
    B proc
    A ram
    B HDD
    A wireless card
    And
    Model X:
    A proc
    B ram
    A HDD
    B wireless
and wanted to make an all A laptop, then yes...

But, as the OP described, that is not the case. And he has yet to fill us in on the details; until he does, we can't help.
