    Is this pixel dead or stuck

    Just received my new dv5t and found two pixels looking odd. One I know is stuck at red the other is a dark black or blue. After running dead pixel test on the dark one it disappears using a blue background. Is it dead or stuck at dark blue.

    It is simply a stuck pixel. I remove those pressing hard on the LCD where the stuck pixel is. Usually I do this when the laptop is OFF, then while putting pressure on the spot, I turn it ON.

    Here are two things you can try to unstick your stuck pixel. :)

    Flashing color video:

    Download, and run the video from the link above. Drag the video window on top of the stuck pixel, and leave it running for awhile.

    This program will put a flashing pixel on the screen. Just like the video file in the previous link drag it on top of the stuck pixel and leave it there for awhile.
