Yes it is the PLL chip. Look for an app called "SetFSB", if it can change clocks, that should do it.

That's what I was thinking. I even installed an intake port over the NB/CPU heat sink. as long as it's not locked maybe i can get some clocks and boost the Intel 4500 graphics. to bad there isn't an app to UN-under clock the Intel 4500 graphics.

only 32 bit though : / ON the other hand if i go 32 bit and it gets 4gb or more of ram later it will need PAE enabled or 64 bit installed. on the other hand PAE and i can't think of many apps that need 64 bit aside form wii emulator and this laptop is far too weak for that.
Probably worth a shot to try 32 bit and Royal BNA and if all else fails install 64 bit. -
