Yeah anything coming form the company directly is marketing. AMDs are good, but Intel still has a fronthead in CPU technology currently, especially in the laptop market.

Haha...that's AMD's own website, of course they're going to say AMD is better than Intel. If Intel released a video about that, they would say they're better than AMD. :p

As far as notebook processors go, Intel has a huge lead over AMD. Generally, AMD processors tend to run hotter and draw more power than Intel processors at similar clock speeds. Intel is pretty much the way to go for mobile processors at the moment. AMD holds their own in the desktop market (AMD Phenom II quad-core vs. Intel Core 2 Quad), but really offer no advantage over Intel processors in the notebook department.

The only thing I can think of that gives AMD an advantage over Intel in notebooks is integrated graphics. AMD chipsets have ATi integrated graphics, usually the HD3200. These tend to perform much better than Intel's own integrated graphics, like the 4500MHD.

For me, Intel is the king of processors no matter if AMD comes up with anything.

Also don't forget the price. AMD is a pretty good choice for budget laptops.
E.g. for the price a a intel celeron laptop, you'd be better buying an amd dual core one.

HA do you see what they show, they show it with an intel graphics card so they can crap on them the processor makes no difference in this test.....

Really a low blow and 100% an ATi ad not an AMD CPU ad.

Both are good in there own way. If I wan max performance I would go with intel, but say my HTPC I built, I wanted cheap price and low power consumption AMD beat intel by a good margin, the 4850e processor was like $60 and used less power than the $100 intel that was only marginally faster.

Um.. the Ad is advertising AMD.

AMD with integrated graphic as a whole platform is much better than intel with intel integrated graphics in terms of gaming. That's a given.

If light gaming and general things such as word processing and internet browsing is all you do, then AMD as a whole platform isn't bad at all.

Intel may make integrated graphics chipsets, and amd may have bought a graphics card company and integrated it into itself. But intel does not specialize in it and AMD never had, they bought their technology and experts.

But prior to them buying ATi this commercial would have never happened. On the other hand Intel actually developed their solutions day 1. The fact that theirs sucks is a different story.

If I were shopping for intel with integrated I would be looking for a 9200-9400M, and they cant do that commercial because you wouldnt see much.... Sadly my last AMD laptop 2 years ago had a GeForce in it that blew.
