Hello, all.
Hoping you guys can help me out here. I know this card is a bit buggy but I still decided to see if anyone can help. Whenever I play something, I keep hearing a popping sound coming from my headphones. These are connected to the card, of course. Now my obvious question is how do I get rid of this pop? One thing i want to add is that this is my 2nd PCMCIA Audigy card. The previous one didn't have any pops and volume was lower, it got stolen so I got another one at Circuit City and well, it works, but with a low popping sound in the background and volume is higher than the previous card. Btw, I have a blacklisted Ricoh controller.
PD: I didn't uninstall or re-install any drivers, everything is the same as with the previous card.

I would install the drivers again. The card might be slightly different, and the drivers could be the problem. Check in the device manager for any yellow !'s.
-
Nope, still there. No conflicts in Device Manager either.
-
Try a selective restart with all third part services off, just M$ and anything you need for the card. Nothing external, other than card connected.
-
How do i do that?
-
In your start menu find "run", now type in msconfig, then return.
The purpose here is to find possible conflicts with drivers or processes which msconfig will let you turn on or off during next restart. There is a help button as well.
If you’re not comfortable with the above, I would search the Audigy forums (?) for like problems. -
Well, I did search on their forums .... they can only find temporary fixes ... which is why I came here since maybe someone here knows of another solution or rather a permanent one.

Check Creative's site for the latest drivers too if you have not done so already. -
Done it already ... unless i'm in a very quiet place, popping is not heard.
