Does anybody have a solution for jury rigging a Compaq presario CQ60 to power on

If it doesn't power on, it means something is broken, power brick, power jack of the mobo. The first is an easy fix, the second is not too expensive and the third is pretty much a lost cause considering the cost. Also, considering the age and cost of that laptop, any attempts at repairs likely won't be worth it. You could always try fiddling with the power connector in the socket a little, but there are no guarantees that it'll work, most likely it won't and if it does, it won't work for long.
If it's the data you're after, it shouldn't be too hard to recover, let us know if that is what you're after. -
If you can get it on once, and the hardware supports/can be configured to listen for a magic packet (Wake on LAN), then you should be all set.
Jury rig ideas anybody
