but it only has VGA and not DVI is DVI really that important? people tell me different things, some say DVI is very important, some say there is only a marginal difference, so i don't know what to believe I know DVI is a clearer signal but am i really going to notice it?
-
For day to day activities I can't see any difference between normal and DVI. With high action gaming there's a little difference. It depends on the person but at this point I think DVI is more about marketing than anything else.
-
Yeah, Brian pretty much covered it. There really isn't a huge difference that will be glaringly noticable even in the most action-intense gaming scenes, but some people just like one over the other maybe because of how they themselves see it.
-
Some people told me that it was highly recommended to have DVI for bigger than 19" ..
While I do not have a computer with a DVI connector, my 20" is still very sharp even with VGA. -
The thing is what Brian said is true, but color representation is also effected, depending on the monitor of course.
Which one did you get and did you read some reviews before purchasing?
Remember, if it looks great to you, then that's fine. Don't start looking for flaws if you can't detect them under normal use. You're just going to disappoint yourself.

so I think you have to pay attention to access time, the smaller the better
-
Whats the max resolution you get on it? -
1440 x 900 @ 60Hz, that's what she gets.
Hey you got a great deal and I'd say you should be happy with it. Like I said above don't LOOK for problems. If you think it looks great, then it looks great.
Dang that's an awesome price, hahaha, I want one if I could get it for that price.
Don't worry about reponse times and blah blah blah, unless you game a lot. The only thing I would actually worry about and check is how well that thing plays back movies.
I say this because some LCD screens tend to playback movies horribly, but are great for text work. Play back some DVDs and see if you wanna keep it. If you don't I'll send you my mailing address and don't worry I'll pay shipping.
hahaha
Just bought 19" Widescreen
