I bought that and the seagate momentus xt hybrid (hybrid is for a acer revo 3700 htpc) for my dell xps 1645 T9550. Anybody have any experience with these I bought because it was $95free ship. I wanted something fast and reliable because I can't take a drive dying on me in a few weeks (OCZ). It sucks because the benchmark on 64gb has 250 read and 170 write.
I don't care to much for write speed as I think I'm going to take out my disk drive and put my 7200rpm because this is my work computer. I have 8gb of ram use my laptop for work mainly adobe cs5 and office and vmware images. Below are my questions (this post is all out of order)
1. Any feedback on this drive would be great or suggest a better one for a sata 2, I really only trust samsung, intel, and crucial for
2. Does anyone know if my dvd drive in dell xps 16 is sata 1 or 2 and how much slower will it be if I put a 7200 rpm drive in it's place.
3. I like to play around with vmware images a lot for testing but it's not that important. Should I run this off 7200rpm instead of ssd or even a esata enclosure. Main thing I don't want to be writing to ssd if I don't need too.

i did same about swapping out dvd drive to sata hdd.
your xps 15 should be having sata drive so all you need is caddy to fit in dvd drive and accept your hdd.
you can get this caddy on ebay for 15 or so.
hope this helps.
Just bought a samsung 470 ssd 64gb?
