will the stock heatsink fan be enough , or should i buy a heatsink/fan from HP that comes with a t-9500 or t-7800 cpu in the 8510-w ? would those have a higher capacity ?
    thanks

The T9500 and T7800 both have a thermal dissipation (TDP) of 35 Watts. The X9000 has a TDP of 44 Watts, so perhaps even those heat sinks are not enough.

Does it even come with the X9000 stock? Or any CPU with 44W TDP? If not, then i wouldn't think you could'nt even get a better one from dell.
Most notebooks only has one kind of HSF to all the CPU's they have for the notebook, as those CPU's share the same TDP.

no , but it fits has same bus speed m guess i'll undervolt it to keep temps down

x9000 will work if you use AS5 and undervolt. Clean your fans while your at it too.

The x9000 isnt as hot as everyone thinks. It only gets hot when overclocked (which you cannot do since your BIOS wont support it)

Keep in mind, it will still be power hungry compared to a normal cpu.

Congradulations on the x9000. I love mine.

Your deffinatly going to have to undervolt it to keep it cool though. "normal" laptops just dont really have the cooling systems needed to really make use of these chips. BUt after undervolting you should get decent temps

Runnign mine at 3.0gHz and undervolted i idle at 38-42 and never go over 60-65 so easily doable in my 6860-FX

Yeah that might fit, but i just asked if it came with it, the bus speed has nothing to do with TDP and heat really. :)

Just use MX2 or some good cooling paste togheter with undervolting to keep it cool i'm sure it'll work fine then.
