I have no idea where this thread goes. Move it as needed. =/
Well this is gross. You know when you open a soda and a few drop's fly? A few dots of Coke hit my screen and I can get them off. I've tried a few things like, using a soft shirt, and the my LCD whipes but they aren't going much more than streaking the spots. They are three of them and they are suprisingly noticable. Even with the screen on full brighten.
Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks.

Eek! Mix some water and isopropyl alcohol or water/vinegar (50/50 for either one). Apply that to the LCD cleaning cloth, but not too much. Then use the cloth to wipe the screen.

I'm stupid. x.X; Is that ordinary Alcohol?
-
Ah - sorry about that. Usually, rubbing alcohol is isopropyl. I don't have any, but I imagine it should say on the cover. It might be ethyl alcohol instead. Do you have any fluid for cleaning eyeglasses? If so, use that. Do not use Windex (or any other ammonia-based cleaner), in case you were considering it.

Yeah I bought a monstrous bottle awhile back for 88 cents to clean mine (weekly!) also I often when on the road use my eyeglass cleaner as well.

I don't have any fluid to clean glasses. Just the shame that game with my sunglasses. I'll see if I can find some. This will drive me nuts tomarrow at during class. I have a final tomarrow to. -.-;

eyelass cleaner or window cleaner without ammonia. Less is more. Soft cloth, not kleenex or other paper products. Spray, wipe repeat.
-
Maybe a really diluted Windex can get the Coke off the screen. I never knew that you can't wash off Coke with just water.

It just like getting it anyware else. Gooy and sticky. =/
I'm glad this isn't a glossy. I'd be worried about the acid eating the coating. -
What your trying to do is re-liquify it with solution (glass cleaner etc.) and absorb it with cloth. It's going to take some repetition so expect to take some time.
-
No no no no no no no no no. No Windex. LCD no likey Windex.
-
Wrong, it's no ammonia. If you don't feel comfortable with windex then use slightly soapy water or just water down the glass cleaner.

USE ONLY ISOPROPHYL ALCOHOL
It is one of the safest things to use on plastics to clean them.
Windex will fog your plastic faster than anything (short of Whistle). Diluted will do the same thing. Iso-Alky costs like 79 cents at walgreens. -
i always just used water and a clean cotton sport sock to clean my lcd. poured little water onto one part of sock cleaned the smudges and dried with other part. just be sure to be gentle and never pour water over your laptop.

I was going to suggest getting those laptop wipes at wally world...that's what i use, but don't know if that would get coke off.

I have whipes from Target and they didn't work. They just made a bigger mess. But its good now.
Well, the good news is I think we all learned something from this thread. Make sure your standing 10ft back when opening a Coke around a laptop. -

Dietcoke = sugar free -
try carefully scratching it off with ur finger nails. Works for me. Try not to scratch the screen tho.
Just help. My screen is a mess.
