I just installed 3GBs of RAM in my laptop and I wanted to make sure it is working correctly. DXDiag says I have the correct amount running. Is there a program I can download to check if its working correctly? I know of MemTest86+ in the RAM deals thread, but that looks pretty complicated and in depth... I was wondering if there was anything more simple?

    Thanks in advance.

If you want to know if dual channel then SiSoft Sandra. If you want to check the RAM stability then yes many but MemTest is what you should do. If you have a lifetime warranty who cares use and if a problem then figure out.

    CPU-Z should report dual channel.

The real test is to check the memory bandwidth using SiSoftware Sandra. Do you get a result similar to the attached (this is for the Intel 965 chipset - the 945 is a little slower).

I'm probably going to look stupid, but I can't find the "Reference chipset memory" selections you have chosen out of the list. I downloaded SiSoft Sandra Lite.

When you open SiSoft click the tab called benchmarks, in there one is called memory bandwidth, that is the one you want. It figures out all it needs to know.

Yeah, I got that far, but I meant the actual drop down menus. I can't select the ones he has listed, there isn't an option for them.

Ok, so I just ran it on the default selections. My lowest number was 4133 and my highest is 9030. Most of them are between 4-5,000.

Oh ok, duh. Sorry, I'm basically computer illiterate. My two numbers are:

    Int Buff'd iSSE2 Memory Bandwidth: 4129 mb/s

    Float Buff'd iSSE2 Memory Bandwidth: 4133 mb/s

Powerpack asked me results for Sandra's CPU benchmarks for my T7300 to add to the collection of results in this thread.

They are attached. As I would expect, the T7300 is fractionally ahead of the T7200. However, I don't know if that can be attributed to the faster FSB or to other internal improvements.

icedout297 Those #'s look good for a notebook what is your CPU and what RAM, and if you know the FSB that would be nice.

    Is it AMD?

Thanks John Looks close to theirs, kills core duo so I guess kills AMD will bench later when not on batts.

powerpack, I have a T7300 and 1x1GB Crucial and 1x2GB Transcend RAM, both are 667. I dunno what an FSB is, I'll tell you if you tell me where to look hehe.
