My current desktop is a Pentium 4, 2 gHz, with a 512 kb cache.
The laptop I buy will probably have the Core 2 Duo T7300 (2 ghz).
How much faster will the new laptop be?
I don't know if it's important, but the ram is 512 mb on this computer and the new one will have 2gb.

Light Speed!!!!!!!!!

In theory, about 32 times faster. However in practice, you might see a halving or greater time improvement on running intensive tasks.

The processor and the amount of RAM in the notebook will give you a big performance advantage over the your desktop.

A lot more. especially if you get rid of the junkware that comes with ur laptop. (eg. norton, trial-ware, etc.)

You will be the "Man"!

Make sure you hold it tightly as it's gonna fly right out of your hands.
Just out of curiosity...
