Hey guys, just want to let you know that I just upgraded my 1720 harddrives to 7k320. Two of them, see my sig below for the specifications. Now I have a total of 640GB :D To be exact, each of the are 298GB, so I only have 596GB total. Good enough...

But anyway, I want to ask if there are any HD benchmarking softwares out there that I could sure do some vigorous testing? I would like to do a personal yet thorough review of it. Thanks.

Do you have RAID (-0) enabled ?

You can use PCMark05, PCMark Vantage, HD Tune, SiSandra....

If its not RAID, those drives will be benchmarked indvidually.

Unfortunately, the system doesn't support RAID though... as far as I know for 1720s.

What hard drives did you buy and where did you buy the second hard drive caddy from?

Nah... I'm probably sticking to just x64. :D I was thinking of dual bootin' to XP 32, but seeing how it performs, this is the first time I own a 64 bit OS on a computer and I'm surprised that all of my programs are completely workable without any problems, despite the fact there are so called "rumors" saying that one will face compatibility problems with 32 bit apps which I think it's not really true as it has a WOW64 architecture.

Even the old late-90s games like Red Alert or the original HL works which I have them installed and tested thoroughly, that is of course you set compatibility mode for them. :)

7K320 is a Hitachi drive model, I would have settled for a Seagate Momentus, but probably because 7K320 was selling for SGD349, while Seagate was selling at SGD379 in the same shop I went to.

For the caddy, I ordered it by phone. You can also order it online if you want to by email. I'm a Singaporean and the good part is, the Dell Factory is in Penang, Malaysia, so it was easier for me to just call them. PM me if you want more info.
