I've got an Inspiron 9100 laptop here that needs an upgrade to 2GB of RAM, and I just want to double check to make sure I'm right about this.

The 9100's use DDR-400MHz memory, and I've got these lined up with NewEgg:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820141208

    Voltage: 2.5V
    Timings: Start at 2.5

I'm going to see the laptop this weekend, and I'll run CPU-Z to get more information if I have to...but I'm 99% sure I have the right stuff here...but I want to double check.

if you have checked and checked then yeah its right but the best way would have probably been to find out what the CPU model number is as that will tell you for sure if it is DDR or DDR2 cuz some laptops have the same model ranges but newer models of them were given the newer DDR2 mobos.

if its a P4 then it is DDR but pentium-M could be either.

As long as you have a slot open in your notebook, those should work.

    Like I said...checking :p

It is one thing to order a part for me and screw it up...quite another when you are doing an upgrade for a friend.

I've used a fair amount of PQI ddr1 notebook ram and never had any major problems with it. Worst case scenerio is that it would downclock to DDR333 speeds if the mainboardboard does not like certain 2x1024 DDR400 configurations...........
