KABY LAKE "i7-7740K" FINDINGS. Not for FCBGA aka BGA Part 2
Core i7 7740K Use Google translate https://www.cpchardware.com/intel-prepare-la-riposte-a-ryzen/
"Core i7 7740K . It has 8 MB of L3, with a base frequency of 4.30 GHz (100 MHz more than the Core i7 7700K) at the price of a significantly higher TDP (> 100W against 91W). The Turbo frequency is not known, but should logically be 4.60 GHz"

I'm waiting to see how that chip performs and we should get reviews of Ryzen in the next few weeks...

If the Ryzen 8c/16t is 95W, well you can do the math for the 4c/8t.

You cant compare these types of cpu's unless you have a desktop, last I heard this is a purely laptop forums.Spartan@HIDevolution and Papusan like this. -

Currently, there are already LGA 1151 based laptops running Skylake and Kaby Lake. The latest rumor is Eurocom trying to push for a LGA 2066 based laptop!Last edited: Feb 13, 2017TomJGX, jaug1337, TBoneSan and 1 other person like this. -
Seems like Intel kicked the latest Process (Broadwell) - Architecture (Skylake) - Optimization (Kabylake) cycle too with the upcoming 8 series Coffeelake Q3-4 2017 also on 14nm with 15% improvement over Kabylake. No idea WTF is going on..!

Since Ryzen would use the same socket for the entire line-up (4c/4t all the way to 8c/16t), it's a MUCH better proposition, not to mention the cooling requirements (95W vs 140W (the supposed LGA 2011 machine)). But hey, who am I, right? clevo are fools and eurocom tops them since they didn't even bother to respond to my mail about eventual Ryzen + Vega machine.

Intel Intel Kaby Lake X Core i7-7740K And X299 Platform Details Leak - Hothardware.com
"In a quick performance comparison, it looks like this Core i7-7740K fights a tough battle against AMD's Ryzen 5 1600, almost matching each other in an arithmetic test. The Intel chip does however come ahead in the multi-media tests by quite a large margin, which isn't a surprise, given the clock speed difference between the two, though the Ryzen chip as two more cores at its disposal"Ashtrix likes this.
