    KVR533D2SO/1GR won't boot , help needed

    Hi All ,

    I bought this one at Ebay for an inspiron 9300 with KVR533D2S4/1G already in .

    But it won't boot with that one in , not togther and not alone , forum search didn't help .

    Anyone knows what this memory is for / can help ?

    My guess would be a bad stick, as that particular module has been reported to run in a 9300. I would put in a different stick by itself to see if the unit will at least boot. If it does, then the Kingston one is the culprit.

    Thanks for replying , I already tried that ,

    The KVR533D2SO/1GR doesn't work ( no boot ) ,

    The KVR533D2S4/1G ( old one I had ) will boot .


    Are you sure the KVR533D2SO/1GR is compatible ? if so that guy sold me a bad stick knowingly .

    I wander what can I do about that via Ebay ?

    maybe Kingston will replace the stick for me ?

    If the unit boots with the old stick, then the new one is bad. It *should* be working in your 9300, as I searched the part number on NewEgg and came up with a product review stating that it worked fine in a 9300.

    As for getting an Ebay purchase replaced, I have no clue. I've never bought anything from Ebay.
