I hated the dirt and dust accumulation on my old notebook but I always feared cleaning incase any liquids or anything got below. However I am getting a new notebook in three days and would love any handy ideas or tips on keeping it shiny and clean! Are those mini vacs with brushes on ebay any good?
Thanks!
Paul

an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
if ur really into protecting your laptop. like my bro is lol,
get
a screenprotector for your laptop, should be available locally, if not get those lcd wipes.
get a sleeve or case for it to protect it on the go.
always always make sure your hands are clean when using the keyboard to prevent shiny or faded keys. macboooks have those keyboard skins that are pretty handy.
always also store away your laptop when not using it. the easiest way to get your laptop dirty is leaving it idle somewhere for a long time so it gathers dust.
those are a few handy tips i and my brother do to keep our laptops clean
personally. dell desktop replacement laptops are the toughest around. ^^ mine got uber dirty at one time lol i cant explain it -

all you need is some isopropyl alcohol. Mix some with a bit of water and use a very SOFT piece of cloth to wipe it. do not use paper towel !
this works great on lcd's and the entire computer as a whole. i always use this method and it leaves ur comp shiny and spotless. -
I use no chemicals just a microfibre cloth, works very well. Laptop is spotless.

I usually wipe the lcd and the lid / keyboard every two days. I also use a 3m microfiber. Works like a charm. I dont use any liquid and I try to always put in on a sleeve when im not using it. My laptop is only 2 mos old, I havent tried opening or cleaning inside the laptop
