    Hello everyone!

My (Six) key (non-numpad) stopped working. I've opened the notebook, checked cables and everything is alright, I guess.

I assumed it could be an OS problem, but its the same in Windows, Ubuntu, and even in BIOS, setting a password.

All other keys work perfectly except that one.

I installed SharpKeys 3 to map that key to another and I noticed... If I press the 5 key, the program maps 00_06. If I press the (six) key, no response... But if I simultaneously press 5 key and (six) key, the program maps E0_3F06 (non-recognizable key code), which I can conclude that the physical button of the key works! What could be the problem? This keyboard only has a ribbon cable attached to the motherboard, I think the "mapping" of the keys are made on the motherboard, what makes me think, if I replace the keyboard the problem probably won't be resolved. Can it be the keyboard controller in the motherboard?

An external USB keyboard works fine.

My notebook is an LG P310.

Please help me solve this problem. :)

Sorry for my poor English! I hope you understand it.

    Thank You!

    Sounds like a defective keyboard.

No matter what you do, your first step should be to replace the keyboard. That is necessary to either fix the problem, or to further diagnose the problem.

Ouch LG, not very many people are ASP for them. Is the unit still under warranty. See if LG can send you the keyboard and you can do the swap yourself.
