My problem is sometimes when i try to type anything with the laptop's keyboard. the buttons do not register anything unless i press the windows key
BUT FN buttons work even if i didn't press the windows key
only the letters buttons doesn't register any press
i updated the bios / reset to defaults but nothing changed
i closed the laptop, unplugged all the connections and battery and pressed the power button for 1 min but didn't fix
It's a new issue i had the laptop for months but only got this problem this week.
I had it on windows 8.1. made a clean install to windows 10 but didn't fix

Many times this will happen if physically one of the keys is stuck.

i am still facing the problem and it's not a hardware problem. what drivers can affect the keyboard? already installed the latest chipset driver
i tried ubuntu live and i didn't face the problem
also when the keyboard stops and i go to my virtual OS on vmware, it works again without pressing anything.
here are my drivers

chrome... waste of code.
Even my clients that absolutely hate IE ask for something better than chrome in a day or two. (And they were the ones trying to get me to use chrome before that... lol...).
And to think you give them first hand access to your data too...
-
god only knows how much i hated it after knowing it is the cause of my problem, even HP didn't know how to fix.
I am only sticking to it because of the sync option. my bookmarks and history are all saved on my google account and being synced to all my devices
also i like the option that when you install it on a new windows for example. just with a sign in it restores all your stuff and extensions. saves me a lot of time
i downgraded to version 44 -

With a MS account, you can have the bookmarks sync too (Win8 or higher).
But don't trade your soul for occasional convenience... they aren't doing these things to (only) make our lives better.

Starlight5 Yes, I'm a cat. What else is there to say, really?
AhmedouviX, try Firefox. It does have some bugs, but overall experience is better - and supports sync between devices ofc.
-
I couldn't handle firefox for more than 1 hour. i am not sure why but i downloaded it now and i will try it again with some patienceTomJGX and Starlight5 like this.

AhmedouviX, mobile Firefox has problems with NBR forum engine so when typing a post one better use BB code editor instead of rich text editor, but it's good otherwise - and desktop version is perfect in my opinion.
-
i am using tapatalk to browse the forum from my android device. i installed it now on my laptop, moved my bookmarks and i am optimistic about it

chrome, ff, 'xx' browser... why? IE has worked for me for decades... (scratches head...)...
Using browsers other than IE is like camping at a hotel...
The excitement is driving there (download, install new browser...)...
The stay is boring (I go to websites for content... doesn't everyone???)...
No matter how luxurious the hotel was, coming home is always better (IE just works as it should, nothing more, nothing less)...
The cost of camping at a hotel strikes you when the Visa bill comes (you realize that all the network and other errors were due to the 'better browser' you have been duped into using)...
Yet, when vacation time comes around (a new browser/version is out!!!), you do it all over again...
Yeah; I'll stick to IE and just get work done instead (vacations are supposed to be relaxing...)...AhmedouviX likes this. -

Well, back in the day (several years ago), Microsoft IE was an archaic, slow, clunky, memory hog of a browser. People used Mozilla Firefox because it supported tabbed browsing. People then switched to Google Chrome, because its rendering engine was a lot faster than Microsoft IE, it was the first browser to support extensions, and it provided sync'ing of bookmarks and open pages across different computers.
Today, those advantages of speed, efficient memory usage, extension support, sync'ing between computers, etc have all flattened out between those 3 major browsers, and no one browser has a huge advantage over the other in those areas. But people still stick to Firefox or Chrome for the same reason that you stuck to IE... it got the job done for them, it's what they were used to using, and there isn't a compelling reason to switch. -
I should also add that Google Chrome does have one KILLER feature.... it lets you shoot content over to your Android device.
So if I'm reading a web page or watching a YouTube video on my computer through Chrome, I can press a button and continue reading / watching taht content on my Android phone while I walk over to the bathroom to take a dump every morning. That use case in itself is enough for me to use any browser that handles that (very important) daily routine for me the best. -
How do you shoot the content to the Android deivce? Interested as I have a LG G4...

I don't do any of the things you mention (android, chrome, youtube...), but that is a ****ty killer feature it has!!!
Sorry, back to bed...

Chrome to Phone.
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/...one-ex/oadboiipflhobonjjffjbfekfjcgkhco?hl=en
It's a Google Chrome web browser extension, and an Android app. You install that program on both devices, and log into both applications using the same google account. And then it will add a little "Send to Phone" icon in your Google Chrome browser extensions tray.
When you hit that button in a Google Chrome browser, it will take whatever URL that is currently displayed and shoot it over to your Android device. If it's a web page, it will open on Google Chrome on your Android smartphone. If it's a youtube video, it will open in YouTube on Android. If it's a Google Maps link or a set of Google Maps directions, it will open in Google Maps on your Android phone (where you can then immediately navigate to that location).AhmedouviX likes this. -
I tried it now. A huge + for google chrome. it was a pain to go to recent taps in google chrome and wait the sync
-
No kidding. Your poop could very well be over, if you sat there waiting for Recent Tabs to sync.
-
i am not sure i am understanding you correctly, but it takes long time to sync on my phone
