    Greetings,

I recently refurbished a Clevo D9T and everything went extremely well except for one thing . . . . the "C" key on the keyboard does not work. I pulled the key off and there's no apparent reason why it wouldn't be working but . . . . **shrug**

I am not having a whole lot of luck finding a replacement keyboard with an online search. Is there another, less particular keyboard that will work in this laptop? A generic replacement? Or maybe someone has a link to where I might find a branded one new?

Or maybe someone can shed some light on why all the keys except one would work alright.

Any and all help would be very appreciated!

    Peace,
    Gail

    welcome to notebook review,

the keyboard for the d9T is the same a the one for the clevo D900K and D900T.
Here is a link to the keyboard, it is rather expensive, but sometimes their are not very many options.

Have you tried taking the keybaord out of the system, and unplugging it, and plugging it back in?
To do this, you need to remove 4 small plastic clips which hold the keyboard down. They are located above the F1-12 row, and all you need to do is push them in with a small flat head, to release the keyboard.
Than just unplug and replug it in. Sometimes very minor connectivity issues can cause undesired results, so when in doubt reconnect the cables.
If that doesnt work, than you will have to order a replacement keyboard.

    Hi K-Tron,

That's a really good suggestion and I will try that . . . . I think. The keyboard was intimidating to remove so I left it be while I worked on the rest of the laptop. I couldn't find any service manuals so I was flying by the seat of my pants.

I reseated the keyboard and the "c" key still isn't working. Strange.

And thank you so much for the super fast reply to my post.

the Clevo keyboard is extremely easy to remove, I went over many times here on NBR.

You can get a replacement keyboard for $30-50.

Gophn - I did try unplugging and replugging and still no "c" key. You are right, it's got to be the easiest keyboard to remove on any laptop I've ever worked on.

Where can you find that price for these keyboards?? I literally spent hours looking last night and what I came up with was $159 plus shipping and handling. If you know where I could get one $30-$50 I would really love to hear about that! Maybe I am simply looking for the wrong thing, my search was for Clevo D9T, D90T and D900T keyboard.

    Peace,
    Gail

I am glad we were able to help, we both have the D900K, which is cosmetically identical to your D9T.
