All the new notebook keyboards seem to have that silly one-column layout or don't have the home / end / pgup / pgdn keys at all. Do you know of any that still have the old school 6-block or something similar? I know about Lenovo X201 but I hate that keyboard for a couple of other reasons (esc, fn, trackpoint, ...)

What size are you looking for? It's a bit rare to find a full sized numberpad in anything smaller than 15" (and even there it's sometimes rare).

Erm I'm not looking for a numpad. (I find numpads on notebooks rather pointless and a waste of space.) I'm talking about the Insert / Delete / Home / End / Page Up / Page Down keys. Check out the upper right corner of the X201 keyboard: http://www.notebookreview.com/shared/picture.asp?f=49913

As to your question, size is a secondary concern to me as long as the keys are full size (so probably 12'' at least).

My Dell Latitude E6410 has the traditional 2x3 block.

If you really hate the trackpoint, the Latitude E5410 also has the 2x3 block but you can order it without a trackpoint. Ditto for the E5510 if you fancy a 15".

Pretty much every Dell Latitude and every Lenovo ThinkPad has the block... most likely all the HP business machines too. It's largely only consumer models that have the silly column.

Wow I've completely missed the business section of the Dell website! I'll check the ThinkPads too, thanks a lot!

Ah, sorry, misunderstood you. I mostly work with larger notebooks, so for me it's usually a numpad with the insert/delete/home/end/page up/page down keys. As the others have said, yes, you should probably try looking at more business oriented models.

Not true. Some of the newer Thinkpads (T400s, T410, T410s, T510, W510) enlarge delete and move insert over to the left.

    Again, not true.

I'm not asking if ALL of them have it, just trying to find SOME that do ;). So anyway, I've looked at the Dell and Lenovo models but they all seem to be a bit too business oriented. While I do plan to do a lot of typing / coding on my notebook, I would also like to play some games or do whatever else. I don't expect to find tons of laptops that still have this keyboard layout but if anyone happens to know about any others, I'll be more than happy to hear about it. Also, thanks again Pylon and Commander Wolf for pointing out the business Dells and Lenovos.
