I want to upgrade my netbook's RAM from 1 GB to 2 GB.
Because it only has one memory slot, I will buy one module of 2 GB.
I am on the choice between Transcend or Kingston. Their price difference are quite close.
The Kingston is the ValueRAM type. I don't really understand the meaning of that type..What is ValueRAM anyway?
Please give me recommendation to decide based on user's post and all user experience..
Thank you very much.

Honestly, I don't think it really matters much. Pick one and go with it.

Agreed, since you'll be replacing the only RAM module in your system, brand should not be a consideration. Choose the least expensive with lifetime warranty.
ValueRAM = Marketing/brand name. -
I thought that ValueRAM is a product that is for entry level market. Is it true?
Ok thank you guys for the suggestions. -

No, not entry level... more like upgrade/replacement market:

BTW, I have used Kingston ValueRAM products over many years and have found them as 'perfect' as any other RAM modules. I pick them when the price and/or availability is better than another product - in other words, RAM modules really are a commodity - no specialty status needed (in purchasing decisions). -

^ what these guys said. 99% of the time, RAM is RAM is RAM. They're all the same.

Depending on which netbook you have, you might not be able to use that 2GB ram. Quite a number of netbook will not boot with 2GB of ram module in. For example: Acer Aspire One

get kingston hyperX which is better.

doesn't matter... any ram will do...

I currently have Kingston ram in my MBP, and so far it worst great (although I think it does, it's kinda hard to judge how well RAM actually works). I've also owned a Transcend flashdrive in the past, also a great device. Both companies make great products.

True, why not! If the price and/or availability is the equal, always get the 'better' product.
but, still lololol about HyperX inside a netbook. Would we need to put racing stripes on it too?
Cheers! -

I don't even think Kingston makes 172 pin HyperX sticks. If they did, then it would be a battle of the Kei car netbooks, haha.

@vostro1400user: Thank you for the suggestion. I think I will get the HyperX.
@jackluo923: my netbook is Fujitsu BIBLO LOOX and it mentioned on the user manual that maximum memory it supported is 2GB.
