    Has anyone bought the 1gb 533 MHZ PC-4200 DDR2 CL4 SO-DIMM for a dell i6000d?

I have been trying to find out information and I am getting a lot of mixed reviews. If anyone has it in there system please let me know if they work. I would like to buy the 533mhz because i have the sonoma and it takes the 533MHZ although Dell puts the lower 400 MHZ ram in the laptop.
Also which company would be better. Are there any reviews on either or both?

Also, other than sisoft sandra is there another program to test out your computer capabilities?

Yea, so is there a difference between Kingston and Corsair? Coz Corsair is much much more expensive over here. About $40-$50 more for a 1 gig stick. If there is a difference, would it be worth it?

You won't see a performance increase with 533MHz RAM. You are better off getting a PC2-3200 module, since that is what Dell recommends for your system.

The Performance series of RAM is always more than the base value RAM. I'd just go with the base - Kingston ValueRam. Corsair is not worth the extra $50.

Have you looked at Patriot memory? That is very good.

Malaysia kinda has limited stuff imported over. As far as i know, we only have Corsair and Kingston. This is what is written on the paper

    1GB DDR-SDS333 CORSAIR RM600 (US$159)
    1GB DDR II-PC533 KINGSTON RM390 (US$103)

    From another shop
    KINGSTON 512MB DDR2(533MHz) SO-DIMM RM199 (US$53)
    KINGSTON 512MB DDR PC-2700 SO-DIMM RM215 (US$57)
    CORSAIR 1GB DDR2 533MHz SO-DIM RM480 (US$127)

So basically, what are the differences between these RAM sticks?

I just got a 1GB stick of Corsair Valueselect from newegg.com for $97 shipped, which is a very good deal. the ram works beautifully even mixed with a oem fujitsu 256mb stick.

i can highly recommend Corsair but that is the only one i have used so i can't give an opinion on any others but Corsair is definitely good, from what i have heard from others i believe Corsair, Crucial, and Kingston are among the best, corsair and crucial more from my experience.

Hm, well you may have gotten a bad stick. I had some in my other laptop and it ran beautifully.

Corsair is very good though - and $97 is a great price on a gig stick.
