    "Thunderbolt 3 becomes USB4, as Intel’s interconnect goes royalty-free"
USB 3.2 is already obsolete —

+ Intel makes good on its 2017 promise

+ Intel has given the specification for its high-speed interconnect to the USB Implementers Forum (USB-IF)

+ Thunderbolt 3 not only doubles the bandwidth of USB 3.2 Gen 2×2, going from 20Gb/s to 40Gb/s

That sould be enough bandwidth for my keyboard ( x 100 )

I hope Apple doesn't misuse it too much by going 5 x TB4 and force users to buy dongles for anything. USB 3 ports are mandatory and even Clone Book Pro manage to squeeze in USB 3 ports, SD card slot, HDMI and USB C/TB3.

Very good, I'm all in for standards and consolidation, but extremely confusing: my computer has USB3, C port and supports Thunderbolt 3, does this mean in the future I can connect USB 4 devices to it?
BTW USB2 had different plug for PC, different plug for printer and 2 different plugs for phones, all supporting the same standard and signals, can they stay with one plug for everything?
