Hi, I am debating between a core 2 duo processor and an AMD turion x2, I am on a low budget and am leaning towards AMD because of it. The processor im looking at now is a AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 2.0G the L2 Cache is 512mb x2, which comes out to a gig. I have noticed that a lot of the C2D chips have a lot more L2 Cache... how significant is the extra gig or 2 in L2 Cache in gaming? I play warcraft III, CoD:4, and CSS, but am most concerned with how my new laptop will run Starcraft II when its released.. I want it to be flawless. I have heard that in RTS games, especially something like Starcraft II which will have big battles that the CPU is a bit more important than in FPS. Will the AMD turion 64 X2 TL-60 be a strong enough CPU to handle this upcoming game? Is the low L2 Cache important? The system that comes with it is an Asus, and consists of a Raedon HD 2600 512mb ddr2 card, and 2 gigs of ddr2 667mhz ram on windows vista home premium, all for about $800. To get a C2D processor at a similar clock speed I would need to spend at least anoth $100.. money is tight. Thanks so much for the help.

1. L2 Cache is measured in megs.
2. Turion architecture is different from Core 2's. They are not nearly as reliant on a L2 cache, thus they have much smaller caches.
3. GPU determines framerates on most games.
4. Guide in sig. -
As above! But to make it easier to understand, The GPU matters more.
