The dell has inspiron E1505 glossy screens in this config,
15.4 inch Wide Screen XGA Display with TrueLife [add $29 or $1/month2]
15.4 inch UltraSharp Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife [add $100 or $3/month2]
Dell UltraSharp Quality
the WXGA is 1280x800
and the WSXGA+ is 1680x1080 i believe, now does this mean that the WSXGA wont look as good say example if you lower the resolution to 1280x800? and can you make the 1680x1080 1440x900 if the 1680 is too high?
-
yes but if an LCD is not on its native resolution, the image quality will degrade whereas this does not happen on a CRT
-
Yup that is true with LCDs. The best image quality for an LCD is in its highest resolution. I think for LCD's the highest resolution = its native resolution.
-
-boom- is correct, with LCDs, the highest resolution is also the native resolution. The WSXGA+ will look best at 1680x1080 (actually, it's probably 1680x1050) and the WXGA will look best at 1280x800.

if fonts and such are too small, you can adjust the DPI in the settings, and leave the resolution at native.
