Just got my new Toshiba A300-05U from Staples in Canada
The problem is that my LCD is making a whining/buzzing sound.
I know that it is not the C2D Cpu whine becuase I can hear that.
This buzz is constant and quite high pitched.
If I push on the LCD screen up or down/when I put pressure on the screen, it goes away.
Also if I push on 1-3inches to the right from center of the screen hinge, it will go away too, and it is hotter there than any other part of the hinge.
I have a feeling that it is the inverter or the backlight that is making the noise.
I am wondering what you guys think.
I still over a week to make an exchange or return but I prefer not too, because I like it very much.

    Thanks,
    Allan

if you shut the screen down the noise goes away right? if it does its most likely a faulty inverter. i would take it back to the store for a replacement.

I, too, think its a faulty inverter. I would exchange it as soon as you can.

It is probably the inductors on the inverter board. Try replacing it; if it does not work, open the LCD hinges, (the inverter should be right on the bottom), put some silicon on the circuit elements. Make sure that there is no power connection otherwise you may have a shock.
