Hey guys, so I recently bought a replacement LG display (LP156WF6-SPB1) for the sucky BOE panel that came with my Dell Inspiron 7559 laptop. I found that it has a weird defect that shows a skewed portion of the display brighter than the rest of the display ( photo here).

Consulted this with the seller and they asked me to dismantle the display and adjust a white filter sheet sandwiched in the middle of the assembly to align with the LCD screen (wasnt able to take photos of the disassembly process but photo of the sheet here).

Just wondering if any of you guys know the purpose of that sheet aside from dimming the display (ended up taking it out as the display's brightness was out of spec with it installed).

What's more is that after I took it out, there was a more noticable shutter roll (horizontal bands that move vertically upwards across the screen) especially in gray background. Although I'm bringing it up with the seller as my other screen doesn't exhibit this behavior, I was hoping any of you guys know what to do with this.

    Thanks all!
