I heard from a friend that there is an expected drop in the prices of LCDs for the end of month, beginning of October. Has any one else heard that? And would you think Laptop manufacturers will follow suit as well?

i know lcds have been dropping in prices for external monitors, i haven't heard anything about lcd monitors for laptops but it makes sense, if a lcd for a desktop is dropping in price, why wouldn't an lcd for a laptop drop as well?

the only thing lcd manufacturers could do that i can think of is generate new technology in lcd's to try and save them. something like a 14" wsxga or something along those lines...

"heard from a friend" is at the bottom of the list of reliable sources of information.

do you have an article you can link?

regardless, just because a manu/vendor drops the price of a component is absolutely 0% guarantee that that savings will reach the consumer.
