I need to replace my LCD for my Toshiba laptop.
On ebay I could see new lcd panel for ~ 150 bucks.
The sellers arent telling me who the manufacturer is and the seller provides only 30 days warranty against any manufacturer defects.
Is it worth to buy from ebay ?
Has anyone bought from ebay and fixed their laptop ?
thanks,
-
better don´t waste your money on that
a. the seller does not look too good if he can´t ( or won´t) tell you the name of the manufacturer.
b. 30 days of warranty ? you GOT to be kidding me.
better spent some money and get a screen with full warranty from a shop that is specialized in spares. one you know that is not grainy, is bright, and please do yourself a favor and get one with warranty. -
Ok.
So which is the best online store to buy it ?
What kinda warranty should I expect for the screen ? -
Commander Wolf can i haz broadwell?
I've bought a lot of computer parts on ebay, and for the most part, they work. Ebay items are usually just as reliable as new components if they survive their shipping ordeal; I consider the 7 or 30 day warranty a guarantee against DoA (like I said, from shipping more than anything) rather than a real warranty, which I would not expect to get at all from a second or third hand part.
That being said, as long as you take adequate measures not to get ripped in a serious way (reading the descriptions carefully, buying from power sellers, etc), I can recommend buying from ebay. Oftentimes power sellers will not just give you a 7 or 30 day warranty, but they'll give you a 7 or 30 day satisfaction guarantee on the part and if they fail to honor it, you can always go to Paypal and file a claim; they're slow, but they're usually pretty good about refunding your money in the case of a dud transaction.
Or you can go pay double or triple the price elsewhere if it gives you peace of mind.
