Hello,
I needed to replace a cracked LCD in my Sager NP8690. I read some great threads on the high color gamut of the AU Optronics B156HW01 V.4, so I ordered one.
Unfortunately I received a LG LP156WF1 (TL)(C1).
I am sure that would work in my laptop, but I highly doubt it has the same output qualities as the AUO model. Can anyone confirm this for me? I've found tons of information about the AUO on this forum, but not so much about the LG.
Thanks,
Jason

From what i know for 17 inch LCD's, The Samsung ones are better than the AUO ones.. I have a full HD AUO and its not bad. I suggest you contact the seller and tell him about this and ask if you can try this LCD and if you don't like it return it for the AUO. I do know that the AUO 15 inchers which were there on MSI GX660R in full HD were quite bad and averagish. So my suggestion is try the LG out and if you don't like it have him send a AUO one to you.

I bought the LCD from ScreenTek Inc. I am sure I can return it; the only problem is they don't even have any of the AUO I ordered in stock.
I am not sure if I even want to try the LG out though. I think if there is a difference between two models, it would be better to look at them side-by-side. Otherwise looking at the LG alone it could look "good enough".
Maybe that means I should just stick with it? Not sure... but since I purposely researched and ordered a specific part, that is what I want.
Anyway... I was hoping someone could give the technical information (color gamut) of the LG, just so I could say with confidence to the seller that it will not meet my needs. But either way, I did not get what I ordered so have enough reason to send it back.

Your best bet is to ask in the Sager forum or the Asus Gaming forum. In the Asus forum , many people have upgraded their LCD's in G73s with these 2 models although in 17 inch category but they can tell you how good it is. I can't help you with the specs but look it up on some screen selling websites or just google it.
