Does anyone have a current up-to-date list or can make one (off the top of your head will do for now! ;-) )?

I especially would like to know if any include an HDMI port.

So far, the only one I know of that has both is the Sony Z series. However, that notebook is going to be approx. 2K and I'm not sure if it will be over budget or not.

I would think the Centrino 2 successor to the Dell XPS M1330 will have all of those but who knows as Dell is one of the few to not have a Montevino notebook out yet.

The big three features I'm looking for are:
    Centrino 2 'Montevino'
    LED Backlight
    HDMI

I'd like a decent graphics card but the other three features are ultra important. I especially want the LED backlight as I think most laptops will have this automatically eventually anyway so why go for old technology? I understand Apple is moving to an all-LED lineup of their notebooks.

Any list or which notebooks do you know of which has LED? LED + Centrino 2 + HDMI is an even better list or mention, too!

Lenovo Thinkpad T400 is Centrino 2 and can be configured with WXGA+ LED backlit screen. No HDMI however.

The HP dv4t seems to fit your requirements. It has an LED backlight monitor(optional) along with HDMI and it is Centrino 2 branded as well.

Sounds good but not available (now, at least) in Canada. Gotta love the country of Canada!

Consider a trip to the States? Or make friends with a yank? It has been pointed out no duty/tariff on computers?

Too much trouble. Besides, I was going to finance my purchase through my work. It allowed me to expand on the budget a bit although it limited my choices a little.

Still, if I could find a manufacturer who builds a decent quality notebook with LED display, a HDMI (or DVI or DisplayPort) port and had the newer generation processor, Centrino 2 Montevino, I'd be set. I can't believe no one has this combo available (in Canada) yet although one could say the Sony Z-series includes all that but it's still not released and will be near (or over) 2K! :-/

    I guess my choices are:
    1) give up on the demand for the 'combo' and sacrifice one feature (I guess I would sacrifice HDMI but I think every notebook should have HDMI or the new DisplayPort)
    2) lower demands completely and say, screw it and buy a cheaper laptop
    3) wait for the HP dv4(t?) and/or Sony Vaio Z-series to be available in Canada which can(?) be configured to have all the features I'm looking for

If you can get your hands on an Lg P300...I think Futureshop sells them but they are hard to get a hold of. You do pay a premium on it but it looks really nice.

Another option would be to wait longer. I'm expecting many manufacturers will release models that fit your needs, like Dell 1340 and the next Macbook.

I'm looking for a 13" 14" laptop, lightweight with HDMI. LED is no neccesity for me, a good screen is (they're not the same).

I am looking for a 13.3" notebook with LED backlight and a HDMI port.....as far I see LG P300 and other models that come with HDMI and LED are either 14.1" are with no internal optical drive. The only notebook that comes close is Dell XPS 1330M (13.3, LED, 2.4Ghz). There are SONY Zs but are a little expensive. I guess its better to wait for a while....by the year end hope dell, apple will role out some good models with LED, HDMI and Centrino 2.

I wish to see a mac book with LED, HDMI, centrino2....thats a real good deal with style and performance.
