Do LED screens have dead pixels?
If so, does anybody know of a good freeware/shareware that I can use to find out if I have any?
All of the software I have seen are for LCDs....

If you are referring to laptop screens then the LED term is related to the backlight used to illuminate the screen.
Most laptops currently use flourecent tubes for lighting, but newer designs (and more coming in the future) use LEDs (light emitting diodes). LEDs offer many advantages over tubes. Whichever method they use for backlighting is irrelevant, as they are both LCD panels and can experience dead pixels.
Dead Pixel Tester performs several test, which make it easier to notice a dead or stuck pixel. No program, that I am aware of, can actually tell you which pixels are dead/stuck. -
To summarize, you very likely have a regular LCD screen, even if you have an LED backlight, so you can use normal LCD dead pixel detectors.

I got the program. Thank you. Am I to count the dead pixels by myself because I couldnt not get the dead pixel tester to do it.

how many do you have?! Make sure to wipe the dust off your screen!!

i know many people won't share the same view but if you can't notice any dead pixels then (unless its within 30 days so you can return it) theres no point looking. As far as i know i have no dead pixels but if i ran a program and found one then i would never be as happy with my laptop.

Your logic makes perfect sense but dead pixels are the least of my concern. The light leakage is what upsets me the most. I am shipping it back and hopefully, they replace it with something better.
Thank you so much for the help. -
If you are sending it back for light leakage why are you asking about dead pixels? You've already made up your mind, so the dead pixel issue is moot.

The decision came after I started the thread. I love it when people use the word "moot." Funny word. *off topic*
