I want to purchase a Dell XPS m1530 this weekend. If I purchase under Small Business I can get an LED LCD; if I purchase under Home and Home Office this option is not available.

Is it worth it to get the LED LCD? I ask because there is a current coupon for use with the XPS but I can't use it if I go through Small Business.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You should be able to get it through the home and home office option

EDIT: Thats strange... try calling them and asking about it.

Their are three benefits of the led screen.
    1) the screen will use less power, and thus your battery life will be a bit longer
    2) the screen has a much more even and consistent lighting
    3) the led screen is thinner, and thus lighter than a standard lcd screen.

If the led backlight screen is over your budget, than stick with the traditional cathode/cfl based backlights.

    Sums it up well.

Although personally, I'd wait for it to become available in Home and Home Office if you can't use your discounts in Small Business, unless you really need the laptop right now.

Thanks to all three of you for the replies!

halfhalo - I called and found out that the LED LCD on the Small Business side was promotional for that side only, so no it is not available on the Home side and I can't get it by calling either.

K-Tron, that's great information and thank you for the explanation. Should the LED LCD really be a "deal breaker"? I don't think so but then I don't know anything about it.

    Thanks again all!
