I have an LG S1 P402A9 and I would like to add more RAM to it before trying Windows Vista. So after opening the back plate and discovering that the first RAM chip is under the keyboard and unreachable "easily", I decided to ask the question here: "Does anyone know what RAM is exactly in my notebook?"

The only thing I know is that it's one 200 pins 1 GB 667 MHz chip... I want to add a second 1 GB chip and I don't want to face compatibility problems.

Can anyone help? Thanks a lot!

If anyone can't help, does anyone know a good website where I could find the answer?

I might call LG... that would be a good idea. ;) Anyway, if anyone can help me, I don't really want to buy directly from LG if I can get a better price somewhere else. Thanks again.

you could probably use any 200 Pin SO-DIMM that runs at 667MHz. The back plate should have an empty RAM slot, while the second one that holds the current 1GB in your system should be under the keyboard.

I added one of these into an LG P1 with 512MB.

same process. Through the little cover on the bottom into the free RAM slot. It was recognized right away and showed the complete 1.5GB RAM. No problems with it so far :)

Thanks guys. I ended up ordering a 1GB chip from Tigerdirect this afternoon. This RAM website is very interesting but at least I'm blind, LG's notebooks aren't listed... Too bad.
