Hello everyone, I have a few question to ask. My laptop is Acer Aspire VX5-591G (i7-7700HQ, GTX 1050 Ti) I want to upgrade my current screen from Chi Mei N156HGE-EAL to BOE NV156FHM-N4B. While both are 30 pin (2 lane) eDP screen, the Chi Mei one is 1.2 eDP (EDP-30P2L-020A) while BOE use 1.4 eDP (EDP-30P2L-020Q). Another problem came up when I disassemble my laptop, I look at the cable code number, which is DC02002QL00 50.GM1N2.008 and according to a quick google search, it's an 30 pin LVDS cable. So based on this search, I have two questions.
Any help would be appreciated, since I'm new on upgrading laptop screen. Thanks in advance!
- Are the cable really an LVDS cable that connected to an eDP screen?
- Does a 1.4 eDP screen would work to replace a 1.2 eDP screen?

You have a 30 pin eDP cable(50.GM1N2.008) in your laptop, 120Hz panel will work in this model but I haven't seen anyone upgraded to a 144Hz panel.
