i just turned back on my laptop from sleep mode, and all i have open is internet explorer and norton running, i proceed to open a word document and there is considerable lag...i have 1.5gb RAM and a core duo t2250 1.73ghz chip...apparantly RAM usage is only around 50% and the cpu 10-30%. I thought with a new laptop and with specs that are much better then my desktop, lag should not be a problem, especially when im not even running demanding programs. Any comments =/? Usuaully i dont have a problem though.

two words: Sleep mode.
both sleep and hibernate tend to every once and a while make a computer run considerably slower after booted back up. Restart your computer and all should be good. -
When I have a lag problem like that it is usually due to my page file that is getting big.
Your page file is the file that Windows uses as its cache on your hard drive (like a file that is treated as RAM but it is just on your hard drive). The longer your computer is on the bigger this page file can get and sometimes it just gets huge.
The Fix: Restart
Hope this helps. -
thanks guys
