I just broke down and ordered a G73JH-A2 (so I can stop waiting for A1 to actually ship). The A1 had a Blu-Ray reader/DVD burner that the A2 lacks. As I was hoping to do some HD movie watching on travel, I'd like to remedy this shortcoming.

So far, searching Newegg, Amazon, and a bunch of others I'm having trouble finding laptop blue ray drives. (Although the occasional laptop sized blu-ray burner shows up.)

Does anyone have suggestions on a model and vendor that would be a good choice for this upgrade?

    Thanks in advance

Amazon.com sells this one: Sony NEC Optiarc BC-5500A

My understanding is Panasonic and LG also produce slim BD-drives. Maybe check out eBay?

I've got the Sony NEC OptiArc BC-5500A myself; seems to work all right.
If you're getting a newer laptop, though, I'd double check how your optical drive is connected.
The BC-5500A uses a PATA connection; if your optical drive is connected through SATA, you'll need the BC-5500S.
